Altech Service for Labeling Machines

If you own or run an Altech labeling machine, Altech service starts with two numbers off the machine plate and a note of where the machine sits. Marapack Services services Altech labeling equipment from a Pacific Northwest field base and takes inquiries from anywhere in the US.

This page is about Altech S.r.l., the labeling and print and apply manufacturer in Bareggio, Italy, and the machines it builds: ALstep, ALritma, ALcode, ALmatic, ALbelt, ALline, ALpharma and the pallet systems. Other businesses use the name Altech for electrical components, building services and more, and they are not who this page is for. Marapack Services is the Pacific Northwest distributor for Altech labeling systems. We are an independent company, not Altech S.r.l. and not ALTech US.

Machine stopped, or just not running the way it did? Request an equipment audit and tell us the model, the serial number and where the machine is.

Who services Altech labeling machines?

We do. Marapack Services services Altech labeling machines, whether we sold them or not, and also services Label-Aire 3100 applicators and 5100 systems, PackLeader, CTM and Tach-It equipment. Field service is based in the Pacific Northwest; owners elsewhere in the US can still send us the machine details and where it is.

That last part matters on a mixed floor. Many plants run an Altech head next to a Label-Aire or CTM applicator, and one service relationship across all of them is simpler to run than several. Our labeling machine repair page explains how a call works, from phone triage to commissioning, so this page does not repeat it.

Which Altech machines do we service?

We service the Altech range: ALstep and ALritma labeling heads, ALritma X, ALmatic semi automatic kits, ALcode and ALcode LT print and apply, the ALcode P pallet labeling system, the ALrobot arm, ALbelt conveyors, ALline linear machines and ALpharma, plus the stands, sensors and handling around them.

If your machine is not on that list by name, send it anyway. The names on Altech paperwork are not always the names people use on the floor, and a photograph of the plate settles it faster than a debate about model names.

How do you identify your Altech model?

Find the machine plate and read two things from it: the serial number and the Commessa number. Altech's spare parts quotes are keyed to those two numbers, and they identify what you own more reliably than a model name, because Altech's price list and its factory records name the same machine differently.

Three more details help us:

Altech also keeps a three dimensional viewer per machine for part lookup. That is why we ask for the plate first.

What should you send us?

Send the plate photo, a photograph of the fault screen or the failed part where it sits, a short description of what changed before the problem started, the label size and stock you run, and where the machine is. A call with those details may settle whether your own team can clear the fault or a visit is needed.

In plain terms, the useful message contains:

  1. Serial number and Commessa number, or a clear photo of the plate.
  2. What the machine is doing, and what it did before.
  3. A photograph of the label at the point it goes wrong, and the fault screen if there is one.
  4. Where the machine is. Tell us the state and the nearest town in your message.
  5. Your line speed and how much the line depends on this machine.

Send your machine details or call 253-709-5566 if the line is stopped.

Where do we work, and what happens if your machine is outside the Pacific Northwest?

Our field service base is the Pacific Northwest. If your machine is somewhere else in the US, still contact us. Tell us where the machine is and we will tell you the realistic path.

We would rather tell you plainly where we can and cannot help than take a job we cannot support. We do not promise how fast we can be there for any location, because it depends on where you are and what else is down. Send the details and we will say what we can and cannot do.

Where do Altech parts come from?

Altech parts are quoted against your machine serial number and job number through Altech's distributor channel, and we supply them for machines somebody else sold. The ordering route, the part families and the pre-season spares list are on our Altech replacement parts page, so we do not repeat them here.

If you are not sure whether the fault is a part or a setting, our label applicator troubleshooting guide covers the sensor, roll, air and gap faults your own team can check first.

Can you get Altech manuals for your machine?

We do not republish Altech manuals, and we do not host copies of them on this site. If you need documentation for your model, send us the model and the serial number and we will tell you what we can find.

Altech's own support downloads are on its UK downloads page, and some of what is listed there needs a login. We do not promise a particular document or a delivery date. For validation documentation on ALpharma machines, ask us; it is an ordered line item.

Does Altech service include planned maintenance?

Yes, as an option. Most Altech failures we are called to are wear items: peeler bars, sensors, belts, bearings and drives. A planned visit before your busy season replaces them on a quiet line instead of during an outage. Our preventive maintenance programs are built around your production calendar.

Not sure what your line needs? Book a line walk and we list what to fix now, what to stock and what to leave alone.

Frequently asked questions

Are you an authorized Altech service provider? We are the Pacific Northwest distributor for Altech labeling systems and an independent company, not Altech S.r.l. and not ALTech US. We do not describe ourselves as authorized, and we are happy to explain exactly what we do and do not do for your machine.

Do you service Altech machines you did not sell? Yes. Send the serial number and Commessa number from the plate and tell us where the machine is.

I am not in Washington or Oregon. Can you still help? Ask anyway. We take inquiries from anywhere in the US. Tell us where the machine is and we will tell you the realistic path.

Do you service anything besides Altech? Yes: Label-Aire 3100 applicators and 5100 systems, PackLeader, CTM and Tach-It equipment. Our comparison of Altech, Label-Aire and CTM explains how the brands differ.

How much does Altech service cost? It depends on the fault, the part and whether a visit is needed, so we do not publish a price. Phone triage comes first, and the rest is quoted after the diagnosis rather than guessed.

Can you supply Altech parts without a service visit? Yes. Send the serial number and a photograph of the failed part and we will quote it.

Do you have Altech manuals? We do not republish them. Send your model and serial number and we will tell you what we can find.

Is this the same company as Altech Corp or Altech Services? No. This page covers Altech S.r.l. labeling machines from Bareggio, Italy. Other businesses use the Altech name for unrelated products and services.

Get your Altech machine looked at

Tell us the model, the serial number, what it is doing and where it is. If your team can clear it on the phone, we will say so. If it needs a visit or a part, you will know what before anyone travels. Call 253-709-5566 or have the line walked.

Walk the line with us before pack season

We look at your labeling and coding stations on site, find the weak points, and tell you what to fix, rebuild or replace. Wherever you are in the US, tell us your state and we will route you to the right people.
